Dr Glenn Francis graduated from the University of Queensland in 1984 (MBBS Hons) and subsequently trained in general pathology.
Following completion of his training in 1991, he began work in a private pathology laboratory based in Redcliffe. He established a new private laboratory in Rockhampton Central Queensland in 1994 with additional laboratories in Emerald and Townsville. Dr Francis developed an interest in breast and molecular pathology and became Convener of the RCPA Immunohistochemistry Quality Assurance Program (RCPA QAP Pty Ltd) in 2001. In 2002, he relocated to the Gold Coast and was appointed Pathologist in charge of the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers region in a private pathology laboratory. In 2005 he was appointed Director of Pathology at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane and established the Molecular and Clinical Pathology Research Laboratory in 2008. In 2011 he was appointed as Medical Director Pathology Queensland Central Laboratory (Royal Brisbane, Women’s and Children’s Hospitals) and initiated the molecular testing program for the RCPA QAP for mutations in EGFR, BRAF and KRAS. In late 2013 he returned to private pathology practice.
Dr Francis has a special interest in molecular pathology and personalised medicine. His current appointments include Adjunct Associate Professor Griffith University, President Australasian Immunohistochemistry Society, Molecular Pathology Advisory Board, EGFR IHC Expert Panel, RCPA Tissue Banking Working Party, Assessor for the National Association of Testing Authorities, RCPA General Pathology Advisory Committee, RCPA Cancer Services Advisory Committee, RCPA Genetic Pathology Advisory Committee, Member RCPA QAP Immunohistochemistry Program and MSAC Expert Standing Panel.
His current research activities include prognostic biomarkers in breast cancer, molecular biology, diagnostic oncology, next generation sequencing, neural network applications in pathology, immunohistochemistry and in-situ hybridization. Collaborative research is being performed in conjunction with the University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, The Garvan Institute and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre.
Dr Glenn Baxter
Pathologist
Dr Glenn Baxter started his career in science and eventually gained a PhD in the Joint Oncology Programme at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research. Following this he spent seven years as a postdoctoral fellow studying diverse subjects ranging from humans to agricultural pests.
A change of career saw him commence medicine where he graduated with honours in 2002.
After several resident years, Glenn commenced anatomical pathology at RBWH and PAH and gained his fellowship in 2012. Since then, he has been working as a general histopathologist but with a focus on skin, gastrointestinal and genitourinary pathology.
During his research and medical career, Glenn has tutored and lectured science and medical students at Queensland and Griffith Universities as well as co-supervised several PhD students. His current interest involves the development of artificial intelligence for the histological diagnosis of skin cancer.
Glenn brings sincere professionalism to Precision Pathology.
Along with routine histopathology diagnosis, his background will enable him to assist with generating a more comprehensive report combining anatomical and molecular pathology to allow for a more individualised approach to the care of your patient.
Professor Camile S. Farah
Oral & Maxillofacial Pathologist

Camile is a clinical pathologist with vast experience reporting a wide range of head and neck pathology including biopsies, complex surgical resections and intraoperative consultations. He is an internationally recognised specialist with dual training in Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Medicine, with sub-speciality expertise in Head and Neck Oncology. He is independently ranked by expertscape.com as #1 Australian and top 10 international expert in these disciplines.
Camile has 25 years’ experience in diagnostic oral and maxillofacial medicine and pathology with particular interest in oral mucosal pathology, salivary gland pathology and odontogenic pathology. He has authored 250 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters, and is senior editor and author of the textbook “Contemporary Oral Medicine” which is recognised globally as the authoritative text in this discipline.
Camile’s interest in head and neck pathology extends across disciplines. He has treated 40,000+ patients with oral medicine conditions, undertaken 7,500+ surgical procedures, reported 450,000+ maxillofacial datasets, and interpreted 25,000+ head and neck pathology cases. He has contributed to multiple multidisciplinary head and neck cancer teams and works closely with surgical and oncologist colleagues.
Camile has public and private appointments at Hollywood Private Hospital, Genomics for Life, and Optiscan Imaging Ltd. Until recently he was Senior Staff Specialist in Oral Medicine & Pathology at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Pathologist at Australian Clinical Labs, and Consultant Oral Pathologist at Qscan Radiology Clinics.
Camile is committed to furthering research and education in head and neck pathology. He maintains an active research program at the Australian Centre for Oral Oncology Research & Education, holds an Honorary Professorial Research Fellowship at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, and is Adjunct Professor in the School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences at CQ University. He is incoming President of the IADR Oral Medicine and Pathology Group, Honorary Treasurer of the Australian & New Zealand Head and Neck Cancer Society, and member of the International Advisory Committee for the 11th International Conference on Head & Neck Cancer organised by the American Head and Neck Society.
Camile is the former Dean of Dentistry at the University of Western Australia, former Deputy Head of the University of Queensland Dental School, former Chair of the Australian Dental Research Foundation, former President of the ANZ Division and Asia Pacific Region of the International Association for Dental Research, former and Inaugural President of the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia, and former Vice President of the Australasian Immunohistochemistry Society.
Camile completed his undergraduate dental training at the University of Western Australia, and his postgraduate training in Oral Medicine, Pathology & Immunology at the University of Queensland. He gained further experience in oral diagnostic sciences at the Eastman Dental Institute, University College London. He is a Fellow of the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia, the International Academy of Oral Oncology, the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, the International College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and a Member of the International Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathologists. In addition to his direct clinical involvement, he is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, an Associate Fellow of the Australian College of Health Service Management, a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Graduate of the Senior Dental Leaders Program and the Leadership WA Signature Program.
